My new favorite song “Body On Me” by Ashanti ft. Nelly and Akon (and of course I discovered it during the premiere episode of The City, lol)

I’m not sure if I like the new “pop-up-video” style comment and clickable bubbles over videos on YouTube, I’m going to have to get use to it.

Apple Black Friday SaleIt’s Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year! This year, even Apple is having a sale!

The Apple One Day Sale includes price cuts on iPod Nano, iPod Touch, 20 inch iMac, and the newly unveiled 13 inch MacBook!!

My friend Danny bought the new MacBook the day it came out! I played with it and I have to admit it’s quite amazing. I’m seriously consider getting one now, especially since they cut the price by more than $100 today.

It’s been more than 10 years since I switched from the Mac to the PC, and making the switch from PC back to Mac couldn’t be easier today. BootCamp and Parallels both make software that let you run full Windows on your Mac. And Belkin makes this little “Switch-to-Mac” cable that imports and transfers all your compatible files and data to the Mac counterpart such as Emails, Browser settings, Photos and Music.

Jerry Yang forced to leave Yahoo

Jerry Yang YahooJerry Yang, founder and CEO of Yahoo, announced today he would be stepping down as CEO and leaving his beloved company.

He has caught a lot of heat this year for rejecting Microsoft‘s takeover offer of $33/share, combined with the dreadful ad market and economy, Yahoo’s stock has plunged to a five-year low of $10.63/share.

With billionaire shareholder Carl Icahn forcing himself onto the board and blasting Jerry in public whatever chance he gets, I don’t blame him for calling it quits.

It must be so disheartening to be forced out of the company you built with your heart and sweat for more than a decade. There are many things I would like to say right now… maybe one day.

It’s Complicated on Facebook – Hot relationship status

Facebook Complicated

You HAVE to watch this video “informercial” of Facebook. It’s a parody after the eHarmony commercials. You know, the ones where couples are all lovey dovey and saying how amazing it is that they’ve found each other online, to the sound track of “everylasting love”.

The best part of the parody video is about 0:44 seconds in. This couple talked about they like to hook up and they don’t know how to categorize their relationship. I mean are they hook-up buddies? Friends with benefits? or what? Then came Facebook and problem solved – “It’s Complicated” lol.

Facebook Profile PageI couldn’t agree more (click on the image on the right to see my Facebook profile page lol)! It’s BEEN complicated for me for like years already! How did we survive before MySpace and Facebook came along? haha

HD-DVD hackers vs. Digg vs. AACS – Hot Triumph for the Geeks

Posted by Sammy | Posted in All Categories, Gadgets & Web | Posted on 03-05-2007

HD DVDThis actually happened a couple days ago.  I didn’t have time to post and comment on the topic cuz I was too busy following the progress of Britney’s half-assed “comeback” tour lol.

So a recap: Some hackers found the HD-DVD encryption key a.k.a. AACS Processing Key, and posted it on Digg. With this key, people can crack the copy-protection and freely copy HD-DVD movie discs like you would copying a regular music CD.  Then Digg got a cease and desist letter and started to delete and remove all posts related to the topic because it’s copyright infringement. The geeks rioted over this and started writing posts like

“Digg deleted my hard drive for posting the HD-DVD KEY! Now my hard drive refuses to write in binary. I get Error Code: 09-F9-11-02-9D-74-E3-5B-D8-41-56-C5-63-56-88-C0 . Oh, noz.”

By the end of the day there were over 50,000 diggs on HD-DVD hacking related topics, and Digg finally gave up. Digg Founder Kevin Rose made a post that said something like

“…effective immediately we won’t delete stories or comments containing the code and will deal with whatever the consequences might be. If we lose, then what the hell, at least we died trying.”

Kinda pathetic that they changed their tone after totally trying to censor the topic all day.  It’s a huge blow to AACS and Microsoft/Toshiba, but what do you expect? The hackers want to watch porn for free in HD, and the porn industry isn’t adopting Sony‘s Blu-Ray format, lol.

The power of Web 2.0 is amazing. Score 1 for the Geeks!

Motorola Rizr – Hot new slider phone for T-Mobile

Motorola Rizr

Motorola finally brought the new slider phone Rizr to the US market. We are always the last to get the latest cool phones it seems. While most of the world are standardizing on GSM, providers here are still fighting amongst more than 3 formats of cellular service.

They’ve taken out a huge ad covering an entire side of a building on the corner of 34th street and 8th Ave. Using the phone camera on my Moto Rizr phone, I’ve taken a series of 6 pictures over the course of a week showing how the painting came along. It’s really an amazing procedure seeing the little workers hanging from the side of the building painting.

The Rizr is basically a cooler slider version of the Moto Krzr phone. It reads MP3 music files, so you can use it as an MP3 player. And from the looks of the ad, Motorola is pushing it as an “imaging phone“, since it comes with a 2 Mega Pixel camera (really high-res for a camera phone) with a constant output light for dark places (like all the club pics I’ve been taking). The quality is not bad (not the greatest either). But since it can take a 2GB MicroSD memory card, it’s super useful for taking pictures and even plenty of videos when you are not carrying a regular camera or camcorder on you.

It’s available exclusively from T-Mobile right now. I’ve had mine since January when I bought an “unlocked” one to use on my trip to China (yes it’s a quad-band GSM world phone). I highly recommed it. Of course, if enough people start to carry it, I might need to switch and buy something even hotter and newer. :-)

New BMW 335i Convertible – Perfect Hot Car for this summer

2007 BMW 335i Convertible 2007 BMW 335i Convertible

Just came back from the New York Auto Show, saw the perfect car for the summer – The new BMW 335i Convertible.  It’s the first year BMW came out with a convertible for the 3-series, and it’s a HARD TOP!!  Just like the famous Mercedes SLK hard-top convertibles!  The Z-series convertibles are hot roadsters, but only seats 2, which makes it the perfect 2nd car, not quite perfect if you have to drive you and your girl to the Hamptons house (cuz you KNOW she’s gonna pack A LOT of luggage even if it’s just the weekend lol).

I’m in love with the car.  The 335 starts for around $48,000, and the 328 starts for around $43,000.  The catch – there’s no available 335′s in the New York area!!  Each dealership only gets very very limited shipment since it’s the first model year.  There are two 328′s available, but that’s it!  For all of New York!!  But if I custom order mine today, it will be in the May production schedule, and be shipped to me in June.

How hot would it be to cruise up to Cain or Pink Elephant in the Hamptons this summer in one of these?  Very very tempting… hmm :-)
