Could it be??  That I’m sitting at the Domenico Vacca show at New York Fashion Week, and the “social” from MTV’s The City Olivia Palermo is… STANDING??

Olivia Palermo MTV The City

Olivia Palermo is slowing becoming my favorite character on MTV’s The City.

With Whitney Port becoming increasingly whiny and Erin Lucas becoming increasingly boy-crazy, at least Olivia stays true to her snotty “uptown” self.

Tonight’s episode is all about Popdish fave Kelly Cutrone being bitchy about some model being too skinny, but Olivia stole the best line in the show all night…

“You kidding? (chuckles) You think we have like… Shamu coming down the runway? No! hehe.”

At least she doesn’t try to be someone else while they turn on the camera like the rest of the cast.

Not more than 2 days ago I made the post here calling Erin Lucas from MTV’s The City “the only real girl these days, in Reality TV, or in New York for that matter”.

Well I guess the joke is on ME!

My friend J (who managed to recently sell me a condo in manhattan while the whole world goes into recession) was kind enough to send me a link to an article on the site Curbed, which not only outed “hipster downtown chick” Erin as the daughter of AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams, but her apartment on the show is NOT where MTV claim it to be, it’s actually a million-dollar condo that daddy bought for her.

Well I guess that answers the question what exactly does Erin do. I mean does anyone ever thought about why Erin doesn’t really have a job on the show?? This explains it.

Lol so I’m heart-broken, twice in one week, thanks J

Tim Sullivan, the Sake Samurai

Just went to a Sake tasting class at Astor Center in NY.  Tim Sullivan is a real “Sake Samurai” (it’s a real title).  Just like Tim Gunn IS Fashion, Tim Sullivan IS Sake.

7 glasses later, this is my favorite bottle - The Narutatai Ginjo Nama Genshu, fortified so it’s smooth, unpasterized so it has the “zing”, and at full cask strength so uhh… it gets you drunker.  Lol what’s not to love?

Forget Whitney Port, Erin Lucas is my new favorite on MTV’s The City! On this Monday’s episode, Erin said (to Duncan)

“Maybe I’m just a fool for love but I’d rather fall in love ten times, and get my heart broken ten times, than like, never experience it… ever.”

Erin might just be the only real girl these days, in Reality TV, or in New York for that matter.

My new favorite song “Body On Me” by Ashanti ft. Nelly and Akon (and of course I discovered it during the premiere episode of The City, lol)

I’m not sure if I like the new “pop-up-video” style comment and clickable bubbles over videos on YouTube, I’m going to have to get use to it.

Whitney Port, perhaps the most normal and intelligent cast member from MTV’s The Hills finally gets her own show!  At the prompt of People’s Revolution’s Kelly Cutrone (I’m obsessed with her ever since we got seated in first class together on our way to LA Fashion week), Whitney got a job with Diane Von Furstenberg (apparently it’s a fake job according to Page Six and New York Mag). In any case, she up’ed and moved to New York city and now has her own show and is being compared to Carrie Bradshaw of HBO’s Sex and the City!

And the sad thing is, I totally missed the two-hour series premiere last night! But from what I’ve read about it so far, it’s sure to be a guilty pleasure and MTV will no-doubt rerun the premiere episodes over and over again.

Oh, did I mention I ran into Whitney shopping at the Bergdorf Goodman sale the weekend before Christmas?  Sadly I was paying for some hot Dolce and Gabbana shoes and couldn’t leave the line to stalk her… lol

A little holiday greeting from Britney Spears…

So about a month ago, MTV cancelled it’s flagship show Total Request Live after like more than 10 years, because teens and college students simply don’t watch it anymore.  Why would anyone watch Damien Fahey counting down the Top 10 videos and showing snippets of it when you can watch the all the videos you want streamed in HD over the internet??

So to stem the tide of the massive exodus of viewers, MTV is rolling out its 2009 lineup, packed with 8 more original Reality TV shows!

Sean “Diddy” Combs is going to executive produce a spin off of “Run’s House” called “Daddy’s Girl“, following the lives of Vanessa and Angela Simmons.  Johnny Knoxville will have a show called “Nitro Circus“, a Jackass-inspired show about professional stunt people.  Southpark’s Matt Parker and Trey Stone will produce “How’s Your News?” You can also see skate-pro Rob Dyrdek in “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory“.  Donald Trump will produce his version of UK’s hit show “Pygmalion” called “Girls of Hedsor Hall“.

The most entertaining show might actually be “The CollegeHumor Show“, a behind the scene look at the crazy hilarious environment at the CollegeHumor.com office.  And the worst idea ever might have to be Nick Lachey’s “MTV’s Untitled Performing Arts Reality Project”, about some wannabe teen performers from Cincinnati.  MTV - why are you giving Nick Lachey another show? Wasn’t it enough that he wrecked the last show he was on?
