POPDISH

So last night the Chinese stock market went into a tailspin after more than doubling in less than a year.  The Shanghai stock exchange index hit the magical 3000 points before all the Chinese people started selling, driving the whole market down 9% which is CRAZY! Analysts thinks it’s a combination of profit taking after seeing record numbers, plus comments and possible tightening of financial policies by the Chinese government.

Well that’s all fine and dandy until the US market started trading today, and just continued a downward trend all day!  Even hitting an dramatic additional 200 point drop at 3 pm, sending the Dow Jones down as much as 500 points total!! Both NYSE and NASDAQ ended the day down about 3-4%, the biggest one day loss since Septemeber 11!!

Good thing I’m not holding anything significant in the market right now… lol but these Chinese people need to get their act together and not go scared and crazy selling like a bunch of babies! Seriously!

Did anyone notice Jack Nicholson‘s new hair cut at the Oscars last night? Jack and Britney? Seperated at birth? lol I suppose if Jack is doing it, then it’s definitely the “IN” thing to do.  My friend Brian has a theory that Hollywood is like a series of circles or rings inside each other.  On the outside big circles are me and all the wannabes, if you take away the outside ring then you got the D-list celebrities, then the B and C listers, so on and so forth. Until you take away every circle, even the smallest circle of A+ mega stars, then in the dead center will be Jack Nicholson. lol.

Besides that the whole Awards show was very predictable.  I called 99% of the winners right from the start.  I’m glad Martin Scorsese finally won an Oscar for The Departed, which I didn’t know was adapted from a Japanese original screenplay?! He deserves it, after all these years!  Can you believe he never won an Oscar before? Even for Raging Bull or Goodfellas? I’m also glad that Al Gore‘s An Inconvenient Truth – I totally called it when I listed him in the Top 10 Celebrity Battles of 2006 in my article published on Kiwibox.com (which is nominated for a Golden Kiwis award lol, go vote for me!).  Ellen Degeneres did an ok job hosting, while I thought Jerry Seinfeld stole the show for a moment when he started doing his comedy bit.

All and all, a fairly weak year in movies.  But Jack’s Oscar Hair? HOT!!

So the big news today is my company Kiwibox.com got acquired by the public company Magnitude, and is now the “new strategic focus and initiatives” for Magnitude, as they are planning on changing their name to KiwiAge Enterprises, Inc. soon after the acquisition.

Big step for me! After 7 years of hard work, now we are a big part of a public company! After the announcement went out this morning at 11:22, the stock went crazy, over 3.5 million shares were traded, price went up over 30% at one point! The stock closed at about 3% higher. What a wild day!

The girl has finally lost it!! Crazy Britney Spears pulled some serious stunt and SHAVED HER HAIR OFF!!  I mean ALL OF IT!!  We knew the girl has problems.  Ever since she broke it off with K-Fed, she’s been showcasing a series of bizzare behaviors, from (almost intentionally) flashing her private parts, to vomitting, to practically having a pharmacy in her purse.  This is the most shocking yet!

Apparently Britney went to a salon in California yesterday and ask all of her hair to be cut off. The salon refused to do it and tried to reason with her, at which point, Britney just grabbed some electric clippers and went to the back of the shop and began cutting her own hair off.

Why did she do it?  According to some rumors, Britney said she’s tired of people thinking she’s pretty and coming up to touch her hair… hmm…  But I have a better explanation…

About 2 weeks ago I made a post here on PopDish (click here to see the full story) after running into Britney the night before at the club Marquee in New York, and in that post, I commented “She had aweful looking black curly hair that looks like she spent 2 minutes curling” – I mean isn’t obvious?! Britney read my comment and decided to cut her hair off!!

LMAO!

As bad as this sounds, K-Fed is looking more and more like the better choice to get custody  of their kids at this point…

Ice Ice Baby! lol how often do you get to party with Vanilla Ice?! Last night I went to the movie release party for Jim Carey‘s new movie 23 at The Plumm. Then it was getting late, and Josh Harnett was like one of the only celebs left at the place (I think nobody told him the party was early and he showed up when most people left already lol aww…) So we were hanging out with Josh Harnett when I got a text message saying Vanilla Ice was at Stereo. My friend Nicole was way too excited to hear that and totally just left poor Josh Harnett lol. I have to say Vanilla Ice pretty entertaining. Thanks to Nicole for taking these awesome pictures, haha!

So Britney Spears shows up at my party Tuesday night at Marquee. At first she didn’t look anything special at all. She had aweful looking black curly hair that looks like she spent 2 minutes curling, and had on some awful looking dress. She was dancing on the couch 5 feet away from me and I didn’t even recognize her.

Her bouncers would not allow anyone take any pictures, but haha, you know I have to get a few PopDish exclusives! She actually looks hotter in the latter two pictures with a ski-cap on and her tank top instead of that awful dress!

Good thing that I showed up to my own parties every once in a while lol! What can I say, celebrity sighting wise, you can’t beat Marquee during Fashion week and Grammy week in New York!

The Colts wins SuperBowl XLI!! Woohoo!! Peyton Manning led the Indianna Colts from an early upset in the game by the Chicago Bears to a 29-17 win! Perfect score since I randomly drawn a Colts-9 Bears-7 in the pool for a $150 win! Another woohoo!

Prince performed an amazing half time show, in pouring rain!! I’m suprised that nobody got eclectricuted! And I’m also glad I’m no longer in charge of casting for the hordes of half-time audience to fill the stage this year – must sucked to have to convince a thousand people to go out on the field in pouring rain and pretend to be happy and excited to see the Purple One :-p

The Colts deserved it. The Bears just got lucky this year, and the Colts worked their butt off. I could really care less about either team but since my team The Steelers had the worst year ever, my next choice became the Colts since my friend Jackie became a last minute Bears fan (she’s from Chicago), so I had to have an excuse to argue with her lol.

Congrats to Peyton and the Colts! Steelers take notes please! Next year Steelers, next year!
