Six Degrees is a new show on ABC, on Thursdays nights at 10 EST right after another favorite Grey’s Anatomy. It’s an intense new drama about these seemingly non-connected characters living in New York and somehow having their lives all intertwined with each other in someway. It’s very New York, and the characters are all so well-written - everyone has such depth to them. It’s only been 3 episodes so far, and you just feel like there’s so much more about each character you are dying to find out. Missed the first 3 episodes? Oh yea, also earlier today me and amy accidently walked through the set outside the FUSE building as they were taping a scene and Erika Christensen (who plays Mae in the show) watched me like “what the heck are you doing?” lol

Ok, I’m somewhat of a food aficionado. I’m a decent cook myself. I try out a lot of different things, different cuisines. Hummus, for those of you that don’t know, is a Mediterranean / Middle Eastern dish, somewhat like an appetizer / chips and dip-ish kinda food. It’s made from cooked pureed chickpeas, sesame seed tahini, plus Mediterranean spices, and usually a sprinkling of pure olive oil. Now it is HARD to find GOOD hummus anywhere other than authentic Mediterranean / Middle Eastern restaurants. But we ordered this Sabra’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus from FreshDirect online just to try it, and OMG, it is like HEAVEN!! It has a cluster of red peppers and olive oil in the middle, we had it with vegetable crackers (normally people have it with pita bread) and drank white wine. It was so good that we couldn’t stop ourselves and almost ruined our appetite for actual dinner lol. My one complain is that there’s not enough roasted red pepper inside, so liek 10 minutes later me and my friends are all pointing fingers at each other saying “You ate all the red pepper!!’ lol.

So Ben Roethlisberger is the young quarterback that lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to Superbowl victory last year. Now the Steelers are my F***ing team since I went to school at Carnegie Mellon and lived in Pittsburgh - it’s kinda hard if not IMPOSSIBLE to not convert to a Steelers fan if you spent anytime in Pittsburgh. Anyway, this week, Ben, our star quarterback basically SUCKS AT LIFE! He threw 2 interceptions on Monday, losing the game to Jacksonville, and he just threw 3 more interceptions earlier today, losing the game to the Bengals!!! I mean we only played 3 games so far this season and he sucked and lost 2 games! I don’t think any defending Superbowl champion team quarterback ever threw this many interceptions in the first 3 games of the next season EVER! He’s definitely on the top of the NOT HOT list this week.

So Honda Element has these new commercials on TV that’s basically short clips of the car interacting/talking to various animals. They say some really dumb things but it’s hilarious! The best has to be the Honda Element commercial with the Mole, so basically this Mole is a famous club DJ “Underground” lol, and the car insulted him at some point, and the Mole says “you know what, you can wait in the line with all the ugly people” lol you know I HAVE to put him on the HOT list lol. You can see the video clip here… Also there’s one with a Rat dressed in all these gold chains and bling bling like all the old school rappers from the 80s and 90s, see the video clip here… And there’s another one with a Crab that says “I pinch” all the time, see the video clip here… These are the ones I like, there are more, but they are not as funny lol. But the MOLE is HOTT!!

This has been out for like 3 or 4 years already, lol so it’s nothing new, but Amy just started using them when we were playing tennis in Central Park, and let me tell ya, I wish I had them!! It’s the best designed water bottle for any sports activities. There’s a special top that locks in securely, unlike the other “sports bottles” that basically just has a little snout that you pull up or down, not very secure. Plus the Evian “Action” water bottle has a little hoop on top so you can hook it to your backpack or belt or whatever when you go do your sporty things whatever that is. Now all I need is invent a hook on my iPod then my sporting accessories will be complete… lol, it only gets a “kinda” HOT because I probably would’ve liked the to be a little skinnier, but Fat Bottles need lovin’ too right?? lol

So I took like all my best girls (my limbs, my bff’s, etc) to the premiere of Jackass 2 earlier this week. We watched an advanced screening and it was HILARIOUS!! I don’t know what it is about watching other people suffer bodily pain that makes it funny, it’s sick, but you can’t help not turning away and you go “Ouuuuch…” and at the same time you can’t help laughing your ass off. I wasn’t a big fan of the series, but I loved both movies. The best line in Jackass 2 is after the guys locked Bam up in a cage with a King Cobra (Bam is VERY scared of snakes), you see Bam run off and one of the guys ask “Bam are you crying?” and Bam says in a really hurt weak tone “yeaa…” and you can hear him sniffering… lol this is the same guy that takes such pain as a hot branding iron to his ass! I’m actually kinda sad that this is happening. I love Spinach Salad! So just in case you have been living underneath a rock in the last week or so, they’ve found bags of spinach contaminated with toxic E.coli bacteria, so far it has killed 3 people and more than 170 people from more than 25 states (including New York) are sick from eating spinach! How crazy is that?! Who knew such nutricious health food could be such deadly silent assasins!! lol Actually when me and my roommate went to Queens two days ago and ate at a Chinese restaurant, they brought out this dish cooked with spinach even though we specifically requested it to be substituted… hmm… the plot thickens… maybe it’s a conspiracy… lol either way, SPINACH is SOOO NOT HOT right now…

Yea I don’t know what makes some girls think it’s ok to wear certain things to the clubs in the city. I mean I’ve seen flip flops, oversize white t-shirts… Pleeeease, take it to a bar, don’t show up to any of the high end clubs like that. The latest this week is the White Shorts - ok ladies, White is SOOO OUT after Labor Day anyway, every once in a while you might be able to get away with wearing a cute pair of shorts with some hot outfit in a club, but white shorts in a high end club in new york city after labor day is just tacky. Please stop, you are embarrassing yourselves, and more importantly, if you do it at my clubs, you are embarrassing me… lol lol, ok ok maybe it’s not THAT BAD, but it’s definitely worth putting it on my list this week. Oh yea, I hope you like the picture choice… lol I didn’t have a camera to take a picture of this girl I saw at my club, so I have to use this picture of some model girl in a field of flowers above haha.

You know I was going to mention it, since I made such a big deal out of the whole me vs. John Mayer running online thing. Nike+ Air Zoom Moire is my Hot-Ness shoes of week. I know I know, the Nike plus iPod thing has been out for like more than a month already. I just got these shoes on like tuesday and I have to say they are the lightest and most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever tried on! The standard ones at Niketown on 57th and 5th ave come in grey and gold for men, and light grey and red for women. But I’m not stopping there. I love them so much that I want another pair. I went on NikeID.com to design my own pair. There are like a hundred pair of shoes you can customize online, but the Nike+ Air Zoom Moire are the only running shoes that’s Nike Plus iPod compatible. I wanted something I can wear running and also wear out to clubs (when i want to go for the downtown hipster look with my hoody under my blazer haha, I’m so 3 years ago and not cool anymore) So I narrowed it down to 3 choices, YOU HAVE TO HELP ME PICK!! Let me know which one you think I should get… (oh yea, by the way I’m customizing them so they’ll say “Shake N Bake” on them, as in Will Farrow’s new movie Talladega Nights). this week, the only thing that made the NOT HOT LIST this week is…

Broccoli that came in a vegetable dip set (Did I just say Dip-Set?! ok bad joke). The carrots were great, the cherry tomatoes are ok, the celery were egh, but the Broccoli were just awful. I tried having them while I was sober, I tried to have them when I was trashed, nothing helps! Raw uncooked Broccoli just taste bad. So Raw Uncooked Broccoli makes my NOT HOT list this week. As a side note, did you know that The word broccoli comes from the Latin brachium and Italian brocco meaning “arm”, or “branch”. Broccoli is part of the cabbage family, often referred to as a “cruciferous” vegetable, due to the fact that these plants often have four petals which can look like crosses.
